Infernal Vortex QUILT KIT - Giucy Giuce
This kit includes all the fabric to make the "Vortex" and the option to choose your own background and binding.
In addition to this item, you need to purchase:
Background fabric: 3 m (Qty of 12 on my website)
Binding Fabric: .75 m (Qty of 3 on my website)
I used Onyx-declassified by Giucy Giuce for the background. I made this an option to purchase the kit with all fabrics as shown in the picture (background and binding).
Backing Fabric Required: 6.75 m OR 2.25 m of a 108" Wideback
This pattern also uses The 60° Triangle Tool, available as an option with this kit. A paper template is included with the printed pattern, but I highly recommend the tool and it is used in many of her patterns.
It also uses a 60° Triangle ruler to cut the background pieces CLICK HERE. Any will work that cuts Triangles at 7.5"
This fabulous quilt is made using 2 1/4" strips, not just any strips, Ombre Strips! The quilt is made with the fabulous Inferno line by Giucy Giuce for Andover Fabrics. The ombre gives the quilt that wonderful illuminating effect.
Finished size of quilt is 80" x 80"
There is a video tutorial that is available for free with the pattern. Also check out my Instagram feed for a video tutorial on a block showing just how easy it is to make.
- Fabric 4 - Start cutting piece 1 at the fold (not the selvage edge) as shown in the picture. The colour placement in these images are wrong (reversed).
- When constructing the quilt, do not follow the colour layout on page 14, this is wrong. Page 15 and the numbered pieces on the Diagram on page 13 are right.
